Trip to Canada
During our road trip from Chicago to Canada, we journeyed through Indiana and Michigan. The fall foliage was stunning. We crossed the Ambassador Bridge over the Detroit River, linking the USA and Canada. Our stops included Stratford, Niagara Falls, and Toronto.

Stratford is a city located along the Avon River in southwestern Ontario, Canada. The Stratford Festival features both contemporary and Shakespearean productions across various theaters. Victorian architecture can be found throughout the city, including notable landmarks like Stratford City Hall and the Perth County Courthouse. The city boasts numerous parks and gardens, such as the Shakespearean Gardens, which showcase plants referenced in the playwright’s works. Gallery Stratford focuses mainly on Canadian art exhibitions.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, is a Canadian city situated near the renowned waterfalls that share its name, connected to the U.S. by the Rainbow Bridge. Positioned on the western bank of the Niagara River, it offers views of the Horseshoe Falls—the largest segment of the cascades. Elevators provide access to a lower area behind the falls for visitors seeking a closer look at this natural wonder. The nearby cliffside park features a walkway alongside Skylon Tower, which stands 520 feet tall and boasts an observation deck for panoramic views.
This impressive monument of Nikola Tesla, located on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, stands as one of the highest honors for his contributions. Tesla was responsible for designing the first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls and, in collaboration with George Westinghouse, played a pivotal role in global electrification. This tribute is situated in one of the most stunning and significant locations in the world.

Toronto, the capital city of Ontario, is a significant urban center situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. This vibrant metropolis features an impressive skyline filled with towering skyscrapers, highlighted by the iconic CN Tower. Additionally, Toronto boasts numerous green areas ranging from the neatly landscaped oval of Queen’s Park to the expansive 400-acre High Park, which offers trails, sports amenities, and a zoo.
